Megan Williamson believes that there are a multitude of ways of knowing where you are and where you might be headed. She is happy to be in the company of the Gothic Funk Nation as it seems to support this kind of orienteering. Her artwork has been shown in the US, Italy, Canada and online. Her urban landscapes will be featured in a solo show this October at Madron Gallery in Chicago. She is a longtime fan of Cecilia Pinto's work and her creative (dare I say magnetic?) sense of direction.
Cecilia Pinto believes that a definition of Gothic Funk can be found at the intersection of Chaka Khan and Jacques Lacan. Her writing has appeared in Esquire, Fence, Diagram, The Seneca Review and elsewhere. She has known her collaborator Megan Williamson for many years. They are currently at work on a counting book.
