3. Impression of the Party:
I have been unable to locate any contemporary impressions of Part #3. E. usually records her experiences, but this was the one party she did not attend, and for some reason, I did not record my own impressions at the time. I regret this because in terms of pure fun #3 was possibly the most successful. Very little preparation was involved, compared to other parties, and few alterations were made to the Stockade's appearance in advance. Nevertheless, approximately thirty people arrived from ten o'clock on, and at one, when things might have subsided, a Mariachi band arrived from the South Side. Amber had arranged this. They played for over an hour, with three or four couples dancing in the tight space, and the sun was ready to come up when people finally stumbled home, exhausted.
